Danvers 1 - Masco 2
The Falcons hit the road for this first time this season meeting up with the Chieftains in Boxford. Faced
again with the task of facing a talented and experienced team the Falcons were looking to break into the
win column. The Chieftains controlled much of the first half possession, however the young Falcons
defense stood strong as it would the entire game. Sophomore center backs Luke Hertigan and Jack
Chronis held strong along with junior right back Bradley Piscitello fending off several attacks. In the 22nd
minute the Chieftains would break through the center of the Falcons defense taking a 1-0 lead which
they would take into halftime.
The second half saw the possession battle even out a bit as the Falcons saw much more of the ball
through midfield and the tireless effort of sophomores Connor DiTomaso and Jack Scarpaci. The
Chieftains would strike again however in the 58th minute taking advantage of the Falcons attack with a
counterattack of their own making the score 2-0. The Falcons continued to battle and struck back with
Chris McCrea scoring his second goal of the season with a deflected strike that made it through a pile of
defenders tightening the score at 2-1. The Falcons continued to press playing on the front foot for much
of the final 15 minutes but were unable to break through.
Zachary Cotter was again solid in net making several nice stops from close range.
