Peabody 4 at Danvers 1

The Falcons kicked of their season with a visit from Division 1 Peabody at Dr. Deering Stadium. Peabody

came in with a senior filled roster (11) looking to knock of the young Falcons squad led by it’s lone senior

in Chris McCrea. It was McCrea who would get the Falcons on the board first in the 13th minute with a

long-distance strike that took a fortuitous bounce over the keeper. The Tanners dominated possession

from there using their speed and quick passing to generate several changes including several corners.

The Tanners would tie the game on a strike from in close taking the game into halftime tied 1-1.

The second half again saw Peabody have much of the possession, but the Falcons stood strong on the

back end spearheaded by sophomore Zach Cotter in net. In his first varsity start Zach was stellar in goal

making 12 saves including a number from point blank range. However, the Tanners would use their

possession to their advantage potting 3 goals in the second half resulting in the final 4-1 margin.
