Danvers High School Soccer Boosters

The Falcons welcomed the undefeated Chieftains to Dr. Deering Stadium in what

turned out to be one of the best games of the early season. Danvers came out with

a ton of energy testing the visitors and pressing at all opportunities. The Falcons

would be rewarded for their efforts with the first goal of the game with Gianluca

Locilento finishing a brilliant cross from Muhammed Cham just under the bar. Masco

would gain a possession advantage the rest of the half and tie the game up at 1 in the 31st

minute off a counterattack. The Falcons would regain the advantage with

Locilento converting a rebound off the post into the back of the net. The Falcons

would take a 2-1 into halftime.

The second half would find the ball at the feet of the visitors for large spells with

Masco tying the game at 2-2 after the Falcons lost their marks on a throw in

allowing Masco easy entry into the box with a cross resulting in an own goal.

Danvers defensive shape would remain strong into the final minutes however,

Masco would win the game in the final minute from in close. Final score Danvers 2

Masconomet 3.

The Falcons will visit Winthrop on Wednesday looking to get back in the win column.
