The Danvers Varsity Girls broke open a tight 1-1 game in the 2nd half with 4 goals to record an opening day win on the road @ Peabody.  Sr. Captain Lila Doucette scored 4 goals on the afternoon, all with an exclamation mark.  Sr. DeAnna Figueiredo added a goal and an assist while playing fantastic in the midfield.  Sr. Capt. Addi McCarty and Fr. Rylee Sullivan each had 2 assists.  Jr. Taylor Landry and Fr. Stella Shairs each played one half in goal.  Sr. Capt. Lily Delafano made an amazing return to the field after missing 2 seasons due to injury.  She was terrific on defense.  Also having strong games were Sr. Sabina Sturgeon on the flank and Sr. Lila Flynn on defense.  Midfielders Kaia Glover and Ashley Freitas also stood out.  Danvers plays host to Beverly Friday night @ 6:30pm for their home opener.
