Danvers scored less than a minute into the game on a goal by Emma Sutherland assisted by DeAnna Figueiredo and Maddie Hanas.  Sutherland got her second of the game on a penalty kick in the 16th minute of the first half.  Danvers surrendered a goal with less than 2 minutes to play in the half to keep the game close.  "We made a lot of mistakes defensively tonight.  I think we were giving them a little too much respect.  Saugus has 2 very good and aggressive players and they both gave us fits when they had the ball tonight.  Lila Flynn made two goal saving plays and Sabina Sturgeon and Cassidy Randall had one as well."

Danvers added 2 second half goals by Hanas and Rylee Sullivan, both assisted by Figueiredo.  Danvers got outstanding play from Addi McCarty in the back and Ashley Freitas in the middle of the field.  "Dee had a great game tonight assisting on 3 of our goals.  Every time she touched the ball something good happened."  "Tonight was super frustrating.  We missed some really easy chances and we had 2 sure goals called back,  Emma had a beautiful header that should have counted, and Addi hit a blister from 40 yards out that crossed the goal line, but was not allowed.  Those are big momentum swingers when the call goes against you."

Coach Hinchion mentioned the play of attacker Claudia Drakos and defender Sabina Sturgeon as having good games.  With the win, Danvers improves their record to 7-2-1 and next plays at NEC leader, Mascon @ 4pm on Wednesday.
