Danvers 1 - Beverly 1
Danvers traveled to Beverly Monday night. After a first half full of chances for both teams, along with timely saves from the goalkeepers and outstanding defensive plays from both clubs, the score remained 0-0.

"We had some amazing chances in the first half. Their defense played well and their goalkeeper came up big a couple of times."

Beverly made it 1-0, 3 minutes into the second half on a goal from Fr. Jaydin Simpson. Danvers wasted no time evening things up when Sr. Claudia Drakos put home a ball in a scramble in front of the net. It was off a corner kick and both Addi McCarty and Kaia Glover had a hand in assisting on the play.

"Claudia came up huge in that situation. She plays with so much grit. She was in the perfect spot among a handful of players to put in that goal. That was a huge momentum boost."

Danvers got a number of more decent chances throughout the rest of the game, but none found the back of the net. The defensive back line of McCarty, Ali Doucette, Sabina Sturgeon, and Cassidy Randall played outstanding in keeping the Beverly scoring chances to a minimum. Goalkeeper Taylor Landry also played very steady in net making several saves and coming out of her net a couple of times to make a defensive clear.

We defended very well tonight. That's an explosive offensive team and we stayed with them step for step. We defended well all over the field. We also got some great attacking play today. DeAnna Figueiredo was tremendous in the midfield and on the wings. Maddie Hanas really stepped up,playing all over the field tonight. She was incredible and really helped us with her versatility in so many positions. Ashley Freitas had a great game as well in the middle of the field. "She dominated on all air balls tonight."

Danvers improves to 6-2-1 and now the will have a week off from games until they travel to Saugus next Monday night.
