Danvers 1 - Peabody 2

The Falcons opened their season on the road against perennial Division 1

powerhouse Peabody.  Under first year head coach Sam Perel Danvers would strike

first in the 5thminute after senior Brendan Lahr drew a foul just inside the penalty

area. Senior captain Keegan Winterton would convert from the spot to give Danvers

an early 1-0 lead. Peabody would gain a slight possession advantage the remainder

of the first half and eventually convert on a counterattack to tie the game 1-1 going

into the break.

The second half would see numerous chances at both ends in a very even played 40

minutes. However, Peabody would utilize its spread and get the lone marker in the

second half with a goal in tight. Final score Peabody 2, Danvers 1.

The Falcons will come home to face another Division 1 opponent in Beverly on

Friday 9/6.
