The Falcons took the annual trip to Winthrop looking to get back into the win

column. Danvers would again come out with a high energy led by Drew Godfried up

top. The pressure would generate a couple of early chances for the Falcons keeping

the ball in the Vikings half. The Falcons would get on the board first when junior

Connor DiTomaso would find the back of the net after a one touch pass from senior

Bradley Piscitello.  Winthrop would gain some momentum towards the end of the

first half but were unable to get one behind keeper Zach Cotter. The Falcons would

take a 1-0 lead into the half.

The second half would see the Falcons pull the momentum back in their favor. Junior

Drew Godfried would give the Falcons a 2-0 lead finishing in close. The remainder of

the match would see chances from both sides with the Falcons taking control of the

possession battle. The defense would do their part resulting in the Falcons’ first

clean sheet of the season. Final Score Danvers 2 Winthrop 0.

The Falcons improved their record to 2-3-1 and will visit a tough Marblehead squad

on Friday.
