Danvers 1 - Rockport 0
The Falcons headed to Rockport in what is believed to be the first ever game
between the two schools in boys’ soccer. The Falcons were looking to lock up a
tournament berth in the process.

The first half would see both team feeling each other out and the Falcons trying to
navigate a much smaller playing surface. Each team would see spells of possession
however neither team would generate many opportunities on frame. The game
would go to half time tied 0-0.

In the second half the Falcons turned up the intensity and would generate many of
the opportunities on frame. It would be the Falcons who would strike first. Working
down the right-side senior Bradely Piscitello would take a thru ball and find Gianluca
Locilento in the box who would finish into an empty net. For Locilento it would be his
team leading 8thgoal of the season. The Vikings would generate a few opportunities
in the final minutes, but the Falcons defense and keeper Zach Cotter would
preserve the clean sheet with a final score of 1-0. The Falcons got great
contributions up and down the roster with juniors Kyle Sillars and Jack Scarpaci
logging increased minutes and playing well.

With the win the Falcons finish the regular season 8-7-3 on the strength of 6 wins in
their last 8 games and officially qualify for the D3 state tournament for the fist time
since 2017!
