Danvers 3 - Gloucester 2

The Falcons welcomed the Fisherman to Dr. Deering Stadium on the only scheduled

meeting between the two sides. The Fisherman would get on the board first midway

through the first half with a great individual effort through multiple Falcon

defenders. The Falcons would tie it up however later in the half after the Falcons

earned a corner. Junior Luca D’Angelo would head home the corner from classmate

Gianluca Locilento just under the bar. The teams would go to the half tied 1-1.

The second half would be an even battle however the Falcons would take the lead

on junior Caniccy Charles’ first varsity goal off a rebound. The Falcons would add to the lead in the 50th

minute off a brilliant header from Muhammed Cham off a throw

in from senior Bobby McGonigal. The Flacons generated multiple quality chances

over the next 25 minutes without a final product. The Fishermen would make it

interesting in the last minutes as they would draw to 3-2 benefiting from the

Danver’s defense struggle to clear the ball out of the box. The Falcon would hold on

though for their first win of the young season. Final score Danvers 3, Gloucester 2.

The Falcons will remain home to face Salem Academy on Friday 9/13.
