Danvers 0 - Swampscott 0
The 4-6-1 Falcons traveled to Blocksidge Field on Thursday to take on the Big Blue of Swampscott. The Falcons were coming off a 5-1 victory versus Salem over the weekend and had collected points in 4 of their last 5 contests.
As it was in their first meeting of the season, the game was tight and physical throughout. The Falcons back end remained stout lead by Jr. Spencer Keyes. The Falcons eventually took control of the possession battle thru the midfield with the hard work of midfielders Ali Elhadidy and Attawulai Ayamga.
Danvers controlled play in the second half and had their chances to put one home through the effort of Sr. Jake Ryan along with Sr. Adam Metzner and Ayamga, but could not solve the Swampscott keeper. Senior Captain Sean Ouellette came up huge with a save on a breakaway with only minutes remaining that surely would have given the home team the victory. The game ended as it started, scoreless. The Falcons got great efforts up and down the line-up including from So. Dino Celikovic in the midfield.
Final: Danvers 0, Swampscott 0.
Next up for the Falcons is a home date with Saugus on Monday evening.
