Danvers 5 - Salem 1
Salem traveled to Dr. Deering stadium on Saturday to take on the Falcons. The Falcons entered the contest at 3-6-1 having collected points in 3 of their last 4 contest including big conference road wins at Peabody and Marblehead.
The Falcons dominated possession from the opening whistle with midfielders Dino Celikovic and Chance Prouty controlling the middle of the pitch. Chance Prouty got the Falcons on the board first with a great solo effort down the left side finishing with shot to the far post. Shortly after freshman Nate Flint scored his first varsity goal in his first varsity game chipping the Salem keeper.
Danvers controlled play again in the second half getting goals from Prouty, Adam Mentzer and Amr El Essawy. Only a penalty shot kept senior goalkeeper Sean Ouellette from his 4th clean sheet of the season. The Falcons got great efforts on the back end from both Spencer Keyes and Daniel Molina.
Final: Danvers 5, Salem 1.
Next up for the Falcons is trip to Swampscott on Wednesday evening where the Falcons will try to avenge an early season 2-1 defeat.
