Milestones / Achievements

Congratulations to Riley DiGilio who signed her letter of intent to play soccer as St. Anselm next fall!

Congratulations to Livvi Anderson who signed her letter of intent to play soccer at Colgate next fall!

Both schools are going to be so lucky to have you!!

Haley Murphy scored the game winner on Tuesday vs. Marblehead and was named the co-player of the game on the bus ride home.  Great game Haley!

Mia Jordan scored her first goal of the season in a timely manner, getting the only goal in the Team's crucial win over Masco on Wednesday.  Awesome Mia!

Arianna Bezanson (21 goals, 5 assists, 26 points) and Riley DiGilio (11 goals, 9 assists, 20 points) are still 1-2 on the North Shore in scoring. Reese Pszenny is tied for 6th with (2 goals, 10 assists, 12 points) and Julia Vaillancourt is tied for 13th with (1 goal, 8 assists, 9 points).

Holly DeAngelis is 3rd on the North Shore in shutouts with 6.  Nice job Girls!

Players of the Week

We have 3 players of the week...

Reese Pszenny had a huge week for the Team.  On Tuesday Reese assisted on the game winning goal by Haley and then again on our second goal by Arianna.  Reese played terrific the entire game and was named co-player of the game along with Haley Murphy.  In the big game with Masco on Wednesday, Reese played fantastic again throughout.  Reese was the one that sent the corner kick cross into the box that was played on by Arianna to Mia for the game winning goal.  It was a perfect cross at just the right time.  Finally, Reese was dominant on the field against Beverly on Saturday.  She assisted Arianna's game winner only minutes into the game.  Reese has shown off her technical ability and skill with the ball on her foot all season long, breaking through defenses and making defenders weak at the knees with her moves!  With the 4 assist week, Reese now leads the Team in assists with 10.  Keep it up Reese!

Arianna Bezanson had another outstanding offensive week.  Against Marblehead, she came off the bench and scored soon after on an assist from Reese P.  Against Masco, Ari had many defenders draped on her throughout the game, yet she still found a way to break through the defense several times.  Although she wasn't able to score this game, she did get the crucial assist on Mia's game winner.  Finally, Arianna finished off the week with her 4th hat trick of the season!  She scored all 3 goals of the game in the first half, assists coming from Reese P., Avery and Mia.  Arianna's 21 goals are best on the North Shore and certainly tops or near the top in the entire state.  Well done Ari!

Livvi Anderson played all 240 minutes of our games this week.  She has rarely come off the field at all this season.  Against Marblehead she played steady as always in the back, helping limit Marblehead to only 2 shots the entire game.  Against Masco, Livvi took on the task of keeping high scoring Morgan Bovardi away from our goal.  Along with fellow center backs Avery Scharffenberg and Emma Dunn, she did just that helping the Team to their second shut out of the week.  Livvi routinely won every 50 / 50 ball that game and played with incredible intensity and Heart.  To finish off the week, playing against her Cousin and her arch rivals, Livvi once again led the defense to another shut out.  This time, Bevelry didn't get a shot on our net until late into the second half.  Livvi has been tough as nails on the back line for us and we're hoping she can do it one more time wearing the Falcon Blue and White next Tuesday.  Great stuff Livvi!

Players of the Week - November 8th

Milestones / Achievements

The Varsity Team beat Beverly on their field for the first time since 2014.  We've had a lot of weird luck / circumstances happen their over that 6 year span and had just hadn't gotten the victory.  Congrats girls for ending that long streak and getting the monkey off our backs!

Arianna Bezanson (17 goals, 4 assists, 21 points) and Riley DiGilio (11 goals, 9 assists, 20 points) are currently 1-2 on the North Shore in scoring.  Julia Vaillancourt and Reese Pszenny are also in the top 20.

Holly DeAngelis is 4th on the North Shore in shutouts with 3 (been part of 4).  Nice job Girls!

Players of the Week

We have 4 players of the week...

Riley DiGilio had a big week offensively for the Team.  She assisted on Arianna's goal which was the only goal of the game vs. Beverly.  Then, at Saugus, Riley had a hand in all 6 goals scored.  She assisted on 2 goals by Arianna and 1 by Ellie.  She finished the week vs. Swampscott with an assist on Haley's goal and got one of her own as well.  4 goals and 5 assists!  Riley has been someone we count on heavily in our attack.  Hope she has some more this coming week!

Holly DeAngelis has been great in net all season for us.  It's hard for a goal keeper to get noticed on a team that has a defense that doesn't allow a lot of shots.  However, Holly initiated the most important play of the week.  After she made a save on a Beverly shot, Holly made a great 30 yard, outlet throw to Riley who in turn, fed Arianna for the winning goal.  That's an assist in my book!  Way to start the attacker keeper!  Holly stopped a minor break away vs. Saugus and split the shutout with Emily Goddard.  Holly finished the week making 5 big saves in our win at Swampscott.  Super job Holly!

Gabby Chisholm plays 100%, every minute of every game.  She uses her speed, athleticism, skill and intensity to deny attackers the ball and routinely play outstanding defense at left back.  Gabby played all 80 minutes in our win over Beverly.  She had a big part in holding them to only 4 shots the entire game.  She quietly did her job vs. Saugus on Wednesday and then played the full 80 minutes again, shutting down her side of the field vs. Swampscott on Friday.  When Gabby isn't defending, you can find her making long offensive runs up the left side of the field to help start our attack.  Keep it up Gabby!

Mia Jordan has been the creator of our offense this season.  She has paired well with Julia Vaillancourt and Avery Scharffenberg in the middle of the field.  Mia moves off the ball extremely well and always gives our players an option to pass to her.  When the ball is played to her, she is able to play 1 or 2 touch and her passes are measured perfectly all the time.  If you get Mia the ball, she will find a way to get it back to you.  Unselfish!  Against Beverly, she was named the player of the game.  Mia dominated the middle of the field and completely controlled the pace of the game that day.  She also had fine games vs. Saugus and Swampscott and Mia has become the catalyst for all things we do offensively.  Well done Mia!

Players of the Week - November 1st

Milestones / Achievements

Arianna Bezanson was named the Boston Globe Player of the Week in EA MA for her play.  In a week's span, Ari tallied 11 goals and 2 assists while helping the team to 3 victories during that time.  Well done!

Players of the Week

We have 3 players of the week...

Livvi Anderson led our defense Tuesday against Peabody from her center back position.  Livvi played all 80 minutes of the game and kept the back 4 organized and poised playing against a very aggressive styled Peabody Team.  Livvi also assisted on our 4th goal of the game to Arianna.  Livvi has continuously been first to every ball and won every 50 / 50 battle so far this season.  She has adjusted her game without being able to head the ball and has been fantastic at running through the ball and volleying out clears when under pressure.  Keep it up Livvi!

Avery Scharffenberg has been our other center back alongside Livvi.  Against Peabody, Avery made smart decision after smart decision on making key tackles and distributing the ball out to help us keep possession.  She too handled herself very well under the relentless pressure that Peabody caused.  Avery also excelled when moved up to the defensive midfield spot on the field.  Here she combined well with Julia Vaillancourt and Mia Jordan to find passing passing lanes up to our attackers.  Avery brings experience and composure to the field and has been a key to our success so far.  Well done Avery!

Airianna Bezanson exploded offensively for us against Peabody.  She factored in all 6 goals as she scored 4 and assisted on goals by Reese Pszenny and Riley DiGilio.  Ari may have had more as she also hit the crossbar!  She has proven a tough defensive mark for every team we've seen whether she's playing in the midfield or up top at forward.  Here's hoping she's still saved some goals for Beverly and Masco among others.  Nice work Arianna!

Players of the Week - October 25th

This week we have 3 Players of the Week...

Senior Riley DiGilio is player of the week.  On Tuesday, Riley got us started on the right foot offensively, contributing 3 goals and an assist in our win over Salem.  She followed that up the next day with the game tying goal in the second half vs. Swampscott.  On Friday, Riley recorded another 2 goals and 2 assists bringing her season total to 6 goals and 3 assists.  Nice work Riley!

Senior Julia Vaillancourt is player of the week.  Against Salem, Julia assisted on both of Riley's goals.  She then assisted on 3 of Arianna's goals against Swampscott.  Vs. Gloucester, Julia got her first goal of the season and her 6th assist on Ellie's first varsity goal.  Julia has been playing extremely unselfishly and has been a big part of our 3 wins both offensively and defensively from her center mid spot.  Keep it up Julia!

Junior Arianna Bezanson is player of the week.  Ari got our first goal of the season in our opener.  Then she turned it up several notches for 4 goals against a very strong Swampscott team!  She finished the week with her second hat trick of the season against Gloucester and also assisted on a Riley goal.  Arianna has 8 goals and an assist to start the season.  Awesome week Arianna!
